What I like about these minimal pictures is the arrangement of the lines. The main point of the piece isn't the background, but the aesthetics of the lines arranged and the deposition of the lines in an empty canvas.
What pleases me in a Void is the way a few lines can be arranged to make a somber or stark image. The Voids are almost like a landscape.
I go through dozens of sketches in my notebook before I put my brush on to the canvas.
